Profile
Holly is Senior Conservator with the Centre, she lectures and runs the objects consultancy laboratory. She holds a BA in Archaeology, The University of Sydney (1994), and BAppSc. in Conservation of Cultural Material, University of Canberra (1997). Holly joined the centre in 2004. She has worked as an Objects Conservator for organisations in Australia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East and was previously employed at Artlab Australia (1996-2001), and the Heritage Conservation Centre, Singapore (2001-2003). Holly has conducted Archaeological site conservation in Italy and Syria, she was the site conservator at Jebel Khalid (Syria) for 5 seasons. In 2006 she received an Ian Potter travel and conference grant to present a paper titled Gamelan: Can a Conservation-Conceived Protocol Protect it Spiritually and Physically in a Museum? at the IIC – Munich Congress August 2006.
Her research areas include ethnographic and archaeological conservation, examining how we respect cultural belief systems in the museum setting.
