Conservation services and advice

The Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation provides conservation work and advice, including preventive care of collections, conservation treatments and conservation management plans for external clients within Australia, the Asia Pacific region and abroad. We undertake many diverse treatments in the following specialisations:

Paintings
Treatment and advice for painted works on canvas.

Paper
Treatment and advice for paper-based objects such as artworks (prints, drawings, watercolours, scrolls), archival materials and photographic material.

Objects
Treatment and advice for all three-dimensional objects (which can’t be categorised as paintings, paper or textiles), including archaeological, ethnographic, sculptures and installation pieces, sporting memorabilia and paraphernalia.

Textiles
Treatment and advice for textile works - tapestries, hangings, costumes.

Frames
Treatment and advice for all types of frames and gilded objects.
