Information for new CCMC students
Just enrolled?
If you have just enrolled, but haven't yet started classes in your course at the Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation, the following information is for you.- Do I have to attend classes in the first week of semester?
Yes, you will have classes in the first week of semester. (For your timetable and class locations, see the Student Information System). On the first day of teaching, you will be given all the information on the textbooks and equipment you will require, as well as general orientation information. An afternoon tea will be held on the first day where you will have a chance to meet and socialise with your fellow students and your tutors. - What books and equipment will I need?
Each book has a subject reader which you will be required to purchase from the University Bookstore. All students will need to purchase a lab coat and safety glasses, which are to be worn in all lab sessions and prac classes. For health and safety reasons, you will also need to wear appropriate, closed-toe footwear. You will be given a list of the required texts and equipment when you commence classes. - Will there be an orientation session?
An afternoon tea will be held for new conservation students on the first day of semester (the location will be advised in the morning classes). If you wish, you can also attend general postgraduate orientations at the Graduate Centre. - Where can I find subject information?
Visit the subject information page for descriptions of subjects in the Master of Arts (Cultural Materials Conservation) by Coursework.
Any other current students (ie. not recently enrolled) with questions or problems should contact their subject co-ordinators for advice.
